Scribes

 The word "Scribe" in the gospels is primarily used in a negative or hostile manner. Scribe is translated as follows:

 The scribes acted as secretaries of state, whose business it was to prepare and issue decrees in the name of the king (2 Sam. 8:17; 20:25; 1 Chr. 18:16; 24:6; 1 Kings 4:3; 2 Kings 12:9-11; 18:18-37...The titles "scribes" and "lawyers" (q.v.) are in the Gospels interchangeable (Matt. 22:35; Mark 12:28; Luke 20:39, etc.) Smith's Bible Dictionary)

 It is no secret to those who know me that I am very politically minded and that I believe Jesus was also very politically aware and informed. It is obvious to those who have studied the words of Jesus that he was fully versed in both the true law and the law as taught by Pharisees and Sadducees.

 This morning I noticed that Jesus was always being challenged by establishment religious (political) leaders and that those leaders were always accompanied by "Lawyers" when they confronted Him. Whenever Jesus was ministering the word to average people in their natural settings, where they worked, in their homes or wherever they gathered to hear Him speak, the Pharisees would come with their lawyers and try to disrupt the 'meetings' by challenging Him with legalities, current issues of everyday life or the traditions they had forced on people as law.

 The fact that Jesus always answered His detractors and left them humiliated in their attempt to discredit Him says to me that we should also be aware of what are just or Constitutional laws and what are oppressive partisan laws that are meant to subvert our founding documents.

  What Progressives are doing to America today is the same thing the ruling class of Jesus’ day did to the people of Israel and we should respond in the same manner. We should first do what Jesus did and go to the public square and teach the truth to anyone who will listen.

 When we are challenged by those who’s power we threaten by speaking the truth, we should be well versed in our foundational documents and when necessary call a “Whitewashed tomb full of dead men’s bones” or a “Den of vipers” just that, and do it with the same boldness and conviction as He did to the scribes and those they worked for.

  One thing in particular that caught my attention in Smith’s Bible Dictionary definition of ‘Scribe’ was that they were also “Secretary of State”. It is no coincidence that the place Progressives are focusing their attention, covertly so, is making sure that Progressives, from either party, are elected to Secretary of State in as many sates as possible. It is the Secretary of State that certifies all elections, hence the “Election” of Senator Al Franken.

  For far too long Progressives have been allowed to lie and manipulate with twisted facts without being challenged. It is time to get off the couch get out a copy of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, read them, study them and start going to where the uninformed are and start a conversation with them. If people are not told the truth about what is happening they will accept what they are being fed and we will lose the republic.
