We are seeing history repeat itself at a rate faster than at any time I can remember. Unbelievable and outrageous acts of oppression are being brought upon the World War ll veterans and the Church in America by an out of control government.
The recent actions of the president to shut down memorials and blocking the view of Americas most popular tourist attractions solely to scare the American people and make them believe that we cannot continue as a nation with a 13% cut in spending is petty and cruel. We now learn that the bodies of fallen soldiers will not be met by their families nor will their families receive the death benefits they so richly deserve because this president thinks keeping his Camp David golf course and the gym at the Senate is more important. So what do we do about the abuse of power being leveled against us? I offer the following as a Biblical response to OUR power hungry and oppressive government.
Hebrews 11:23 "It was by faith that Moses’ parents hid him for three months when he was born. They saw that God had given them an unusual child, and they were not afraid to disobey the king’s command."
...
Moses' parents did what they knew the LORD would have them do without fearing retribution from a king who had imposed undo hardships and ungodly laws upon His people.
That passage continues in verse 27; "...It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible...."
Moses disobeyed the 'king' and did what was right in the sight of God. He kept his heart right before God and advanced toward the high calling God had placed before him.
Passages like this one and many others were written and preserved throughout the centuries to inspire us to follow the Lord and to have no fear of the 'king' and yes even to disobey the 'king' when he imposes undo hardship or ungodly restrictions on His people. When Moses went to confront the king he was respectful and used the correct protocol but in the end after having done all he could he took action and led the people out of Egypt.
When we are at the point of disobeying government, which is VERY soon, it must be for the advancing of the Kingdom and the freeing of His people and not merely to get out of an oppressive or uncomfortable situation.  It is my hope and prayer that the Church in America will not mirror the Church in Germany and Europe leading up to and during WWll and remain uninvolved and silent in the face of a tyrannical government but will instead stand and defend the defenseless and challenge the oppressors in the same manner that Jesus confronted the authorities over Israel and as Moses defied the king of Egypt.
We are the children of God and we are being asked to lead His people and those yet to receive Him as their King. I believe we are going to soon have to follow the lead of the civil rights movement of the 1960s and march on Washington and demand that Gods people, Americans, be set free from what is fast becoming a Marxist government. Marxism is not the destiny God has for America but if the Church does not act soon that is exactly what we will become. It is time for Pastors to stop fearing the retribution of the IRS and begin educating their congregations on the responsibility to steward the republic we have been blessed to inherit.
